In 1988, a pair of comic artists, Peter Milligan and Brendan McCarthy released a one off graphic novel called 'Skin'. The story was an odd one, not only that the main character was a skinhead, but one whom was also a victim of Thalidomide. The nickname for these children with these defects was 'sealboys' and it just so happened , most of them were teenagers during the skinhead movement in England of the late 60's.
The comic art was done mostly in a series of pastel pieces, divided into panels. The effect is almost hallucinatory and give it a strange style.
Out of print now, but copies are available online, it was a great one-off I wish they would've continued.
