"...Ain't Nuthin' Th F&%# With"

Ah yes. The memories. Mostly in regards to one of the biggest projects that's come around in a long while, only to be somewhat still born. Luckily, as mentioned here before, that project was indeed completed, and, copies of this do in fact exist, albiet, under the radar. Ian Thomas form the 36 Chambers Blog did a little write up of it here. Below are some details from the pages.

Hindi Font!

I've been rummaging through font discs, sites, for a good 'Hindi' looking (not genuine) font. There's some great versions out there, as well as some great free ones here.

Some places I've these used are here:

And also this video "remix" that we put together a little while ago.

Cinema 4D

Maxon released Cinema 4D Version 10 about a year and a half ago, and I've finally gotten around to poking around with it. It's pretty extensive, and, has lots of new features that make it almost a solid bonifide 3D production tool. While it's definitely a more lightweight program compared to Maya or Lightwave, it's becoming much more in depth, and now offers a pretty solid modeling interface as well.

Probably the industry standard for those of us in the Motion Graphics animation business. You can download a free demo here at Maxons site.

Refresh Everything©

There's a series of billboards out there that, at first, were mistaken for 2008 campaign slogans. It turns out , this was Pepsi Co's new ad campaign.

It'd be interesting to see if Pepsi had a backup campaign in wake of a McCain win in November. Considering it takes a good year to gear up for one of these major pushes, I'm sure Pepsi had the resources to develop 2 separate campaigns, awaiting the november results.

Here's what I imagine a new Pepsi logo would have looked like if there'd been a McCain/Palin win:

From Sketch To Screen

This is was for a shirt design I'd put together a few days ago. So tweaks are still being made, but, Illustrator can be a great and forgiving program when it come to any hand lettering.

Trading Cards

I'm not sure if these are real, but someone made these Clockwork Orange Trading Cards. It got me thinking that this would be a great excercise for students. It always struck me how odd some of the movies and subjects that get created into trading cards (not to mention the Gulf War bubble gum cards that came out in 1991!....shudder!).

Some of the other notables!

Happy New Year folks!

A new year greeting from the folks at TFU! Amidst the daunting times, the best place to find solace, I've always said, is the sketchbook. Get those pencils moving folks!
