Doug Chiang

Among some of the concept art masters like Syd Mead and Ralph McQuarrie, Doug Chiang ranks high up there. A versatile artist (and a big Design Marker fan to boot) who's work has spanned industries. Most famously his work for LucasFilm, which spanned some 15 years. He started as a concept artist for their 'Young Indiana Jones' series.

He was then positioned as Concept Director for the Star Wars prequels, which he'd spent a good ten years on.

He's left LucasFilm since, and has worked with Zemeckis on Beowulf, and Speilberg on War Of The Worlds. A project called Robota is also in the works, as it'll be Chiang's first directorial work, along with all of his own concept work.
