Before the similarly named video game was ever conceived, this book was floating around, mostly as a textbook. Craig Castleman's book is a rather academic account of the first 5 or so years of New York subway graffiti. While mostly an analysis and primer on New York youth of the 1970's, the book features some great interviews with the likes of Lee and Stan 153. Also featured is an extensive conversation with legendary transit cops Hickey and Ski.
This was all made the more relevvant when Los Angeles City Attorney let it be known on his intentions for kids scribbling around the city.
